well despite the fact that this article is forever long, i endured to read about the badness of swetashops. the fact that there are no age limits in these places is damn ignorant. i know i used that word out of context but it’s frustrating me that people have no regard for human rights. although the cost of living is alot cheaper there than here in the US, they should still make more than 3 dollars a day.
i think that the whole world is corrupt. yes there are alot of people that are fighting for better wages for overseas factories workers, yet there is virtually nothing that can be done. even if we are able to increase their wages, the cost of the products made would increase. the increase of price could possibly lead to another depression in this country. but the gas prices today are going to make sure of that.
the article really depresses me though because it talks about the negative aspects of the workers’s lives. i am sure that they can’t be entirely happy but there has to be something in their lives that brings them some happiness. it’s not like the factories made fun and joy illegal if you are an employee.
