Americans tuning out the world

Of course Americans are pulling away from the rest of the world. The article makes a very good point when it states that since all of the other nations are risking a lot just getting here. And that shows me that those countries must not be all too great if people are trying to get here. So why go anywhere if we are already in the most desired place on earth.

Also, the fact that there are many countries such as France and Japan showing more and more American traits nowadays makes Americans not want to travel because they would just be spending money to see what they can at home. Although these countries are not completely Americanized, it’s still too much like home if Americans are wishing to escape their everyday lives.

It is not too much of an entertainment issue rather than an economical issue. There are thousands of small businesses in other countries that depend on American tourism in order to stay in business. If the amount of people coming into the country decreases, so do their income. This can cause a drop in the economy of that immediate area. Many tourist attractions can close down and if there happens to be a small neighborhood nearby, that could also be affected negatively. Tourist attractions in America might contribute a small amount to the neighboring neighborhood. The community could collapse if one source of public revenue is eliminated. This sort of thing can be expected in overseas countries if Americans continue their global isolation.

  1. I agree with what you said because I feel the same way. Americans have no need to go to different countries if everyone is coming here. Also if everyone is coming here we can learn about their country from them. The only downfall from this is Americans do not get to see all the beautiful sites in other countries. This also affects how much time we spend on different languages. If we do not have any reason to venture off to other countries then why waste time on their language.

  2. Very good points! Keep up the great work!
