“Super Story”…..not bad…

dancing-gir.gif                                                                               After reading “Prologue: The Super Story” I began to think about how the articly effected me. It became quite apparent to me that this matter of globalization it a part of my life whether I want it to be or not. It is almost frightening how someone could get on a computer and within hours, send a missile to a country or empty out someone’s bank account from across the world.

Freidman raises a good point about the three globally controlling factors, states, Supermarkets, and Super Empowered individuals. The conflicts are everywhere. The most prominent of which, and on of the most recent, are the events of 9/11.  This event was one of the most frightening attacks by an individual towards an entire nation. Even more frightening is the fact that it was all a retaliation action. Granted this individual was provoked, but anger hastens the thought process. Just imagine how much more devastating that day could have been if this individual’s mind was un-clouded by revenge.

Despite all the fears of attacks and sabotages through the net, there are still ever-growing opportunities for personal advancement. It is very possible to find a job in another country or even on a smaller scale, find a job near where you live. It has become commonplace to book a trip to places like France or Italy with a mere click of a mouse. All of this is possible and is led to believe that everything is under the idea that control of the world is designated to the states, Supermarkets, and super empowered individuals. Not so much the job or trip thing but the basic idea is the same.

  1. Good job Ed, I think that you provide a good summary of Friedman’s points and some good analysis. I encourage you to focus a bit more on analysis / your thoughts on future posts, but good job overall! thanks!

  2. Your blog brings up many vital points. The fact that we can communicate with anyone with just a click of a button that lives half way across the globe in unbelievable. It’s a good thing because we can help other countries out, and eventually become closer and more unified.
